Founder, East Coast Yeti Jeff Haly founded East Coast Yeti in 2023 with a vision to create something different from traditional spring and summer hockey — a program where high-level competition, winning, and having fun all go hand in hand. East Coast Yeti was built around a simple philosophy: have fun, meet new people, and compete to win. Since its inception, Jeff has developed a winning culture that has brought together some of the top 2013-born players from across North America. Jeff’s involvement in hockey extends well beyond the Yeti. He currently serves as the Atlantic Scout for the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and is the owner of Let’s Play 3v3, a youth hockey tournament company that hosts events throughout the United States and Canada. A native of Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Jeff grew up playing youth hockey for the Valley Forge Minutemen and Philadelphia Little Flyers. For Jeff, East Coast Yeti is about much more than assembling talented hockey players. His experiences in the game have shaped his belief that high-level hockey can be extremely competitive without losing what makes the game special. It’s about creating an environment players want to be part of, building lifelong friendships, making unforgettable memories, and developing a culture where players have fun and expect to win.
VP/Head Coach
- Name: Matt McArdle
- Email: matt@eastcoastyeti.com
Matt McArdle brings elite playing experience and six years of coaching to the Yeti as head coach, with a proven record of helping players advance to top programs, prep schools and NCAA Division 1 programs. A Maryland native, Matt came up through the Little Caps and Team Maryland before playing at Shattuck-St. Mary’s from 8th through 12th grade. There he competed for national championships year after year, earning multiple national titles alongside future professionals, including Stanley Cup champions Nathan MacKinnon and Teddy Blueger. He then played two seasons in the USHL with Dubuque, Muskegon, Fargo, and Sioux City, earning a Division I scholarship to Lake Superior State University. He finished his college career as a graduate transfer at Merrimack College. Matt went on to sign a professional contract with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals, affiliated with the Winnipeg Jets, and retired in 2020 to focus on coaching. Along the way, Matt built lasting relationships with active junior and college coaches, scouts, and other hockey decision-makers. Those connections have helped move players on to the next level, and they give Yeti families direct access to the people who evaluate and recruit talent. Having played at every stage of the development pathway, Matt gives players and families honest guidance, a clear roadmap, and the habits, mindset, and work ethic needed to succeed at the highest levels of the game.
